The annual Alishan Cherry Blossom Festival will kick off five days earlier than usual, from March 10 to April 10, 2014, due to climate change.
Many other kinds of flowers have quietly bloomed in the Alishan National Forest Recreation Area, too. Formosan cherry, calla lily, English daily and oldham’s azalea (a kind of azalea native to Taiwan) seem to compete against one another expressing their beauty.
From March 8, 2014 on, free shuttle service will be provided by the Chiayi Forest District Office. All visitors are welcome to utilize this service for a convenient early-spring flower-appreciation trip.
