Article 16 of the Tobacco Hazards Prevention Act will become effective on April 1, 2014 as announced by the Ministry of Health and Welfare. Except in smoking zones, smoking will be prohibited in all national parks, national nature parks, scenic areas and forests recreation areas in Taiwan. Places without smoking zones will be considered entirely smoke-free.
At the Chukou Visitor and Administration Center in the Alishan National Scenic Area, other than in smoking zones, smoking will not be allowed either. In response to the new rule, some smoking areas with cigarette receptacles and smoking signs have been built. Please be aware of the new rule and utilize the facilities if needed.
