City Recognized at FIABCI-Taiwan Real Estate Excellence Award

The city government received an award recognizing its Special Contribution to National Development in the 2014 FIABCI-Taiwan Real Estate Excellence Awards on June 13.

Mayor Hau Lung-bin noted during his address that the award acknowledged the city government’s efforts to make the city more beautiful, sustainable, convenient, and livable. Examples of the city’s undertakings include the revitalization of Tamsui River, the transformation of a landfill into an ecological park, as well as the construction of new landmarks such as Digital Art Center and Taipei Pop Music Center.In addition to investing in infrastructure, Hau remarked that the City has also placed great emphasis on the development of services to cater to the needs of residents. YouBike public bike rental system, Taipei Free free Wi-Fi connection, and 1999 Citizen Hotline are some of the services that have been well received since their inception. As the city gears up for the World Design Capital and Velo-city Conference in 2016, the mayor vows to live up to the goal of sustainability, convenience, safety, and livability in carrying out future policies.
