Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation (TRTC) indicated that the newly upgraded Automatic Ticket Issuing Machine (ATIM) at MRT stations will serve two functions: selling single journey tickets and adding store value to EasyCard. In addition to standard bills (NT$100, NT$200, NT$500, NT$1000 and NT$2000), the renovated ticket vending machines now take the following coins: NT$1, NT$5, NT$10, NT$20, and NT$50.Directions on how to recharge the EasyCard will be shown on the screen. A newly added feature includes the display of information on the previous recharging of the card.Currently, over 120 updated ATIMs have been installed at 62 stations across the City’s MRT network. With the exception of stations along the Xinyi line and the upcoming Songshan line, the upgraded ticket vending machines will be available at all remaining stations by the end of 2014.
