City Offers Collective Burning of Paper-money for Ghost Festival

With the approach of the Ghost Festival, the Department of Environmental Protection will be offering the collective paper-money burning service for the residents of the city starting July 27.

The service will be provided at all 456 borough offices across the city. Each borough office will provide 200 “paper money” collection bags to those who wish to participate in the program. Furthermore, the collection will be divided into “gold paper money collection” and “silver paper money collection,” and the respective bags will be processed separately by the city-affiliated incinerators.Individuals can acquire designated paper-money collection bags from their local borough office, and divide the gold and silver paper money accordingly and place them in the bags. The collection time and location will be announced by the borough offices. The bags will be retrieved by the city’s cleaning crew and delivered to the incinerators.For communities, enterprises, and religious groups, application for access to Beitou, Muzha, and Neihu Incinerators to hold pudu ceremonies can be obtained by applying at the local borough office.
