Dadaocheng Fireworks Festival: Traffic Information

With the Dadaocheng Fireworks Festival right around the corner, the Department of Transportation (DOT) encourages the public to take public transportation to the event for better travel experience.

The Public Transportation Office (PTO) has set up two fireworks shuttles for the public – route 135 and 136. Route 135 has bus stops at East 3 Gate of Taipei Railway Station and Taipei City Hospital Zhongxing Branch, while Route 136 travels between MRT Xuanglian Station and Dadaocheng Wharf (Floodgate 5). The special shuttles run between 3 PM and 11 PM on the day of the fireworks show. The fare for individual passengers is one zone.DOT reminds the public that traffic control will be implemented for the following area (south of Liangzhou Street, west of Yanping N. Road, north of Kaifeng Street, and east of Huanhe N. Road) between 6:30 PM and 11 PM. The Civic Boulevard Overpass entrances at Dongning, Yongji, Guangfu, and Jingshan intersections – as well as the Huanghe N. Road Exit – will be closed off during this period. The Zhongxiao Bridge will also be closed to both pedestrians and traffic between 8 PM and 9:30 PM for the fireworks show. During this period, all westbound traffic on Civic Boulevard Overpass will be required to exit through the Jiangguo N. Road Exit.The Dadaocheng Fireworks Festival will take place at Yanping Riverside Park starting the afternoon of August 2, with the pyrotechnic extravaganza slated for 8:30 PM.For more information on public transportation, please visit the activity website (http://2014fireworks.taipeitravel.net/index_eng.html) or call the 1999 Citizen Hotline.
