Labor Office to Organize Free Health Checkup for Foreign Workers this Sunday

As a token of gratitude to the hardworking foreign workers residing in Taipei City, the Department of Labor (DOL) will hold a special Foreign Workers’ Summer Health Checkup at Taipei Train Station from 1 PM to 4 PM on Sunday, August 10.

Foreign workers who bring both their National Health Insurance Card and Alien Resident Certificate can sign up for the free screening at the activity area between West 1 and West 3 gate of Taipei Train Station.Director Chen Huei-chi of Taipei City Foreign and Disabled Labor Office (FDLO) remarked that the event invites medical professionals to assist in checkups spanning disciplines such as dentistry, dermatology, ophthalmology, internal medicine, rehabilitation, health counseling, and more.DOL Commissioner Chen Yeh-shin pointed out that the activity is aimed at migrant workers from countries such as Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, and Thailand. He hopes that the workers who often encounter obstacles such as taking time off work and language barriers can take advantage of the free checkups and keep up-to-date on their own health conditions and physical well-being.The free checkup is the collaboration of FDLO, Taipei City Hospital, and Tzu Chi Medical Association.
