City Inaugurates New Parent-child Center in Xinyi District

The Xinyi Parent-child Center officially opened for business on August 30. The new facility marked the last leg of the city’s race to establish one family hall at each of the 12 administrative districts.

Mayor Hau Lung-bin expressed his gratitude to all those who have contributed to the accomplishment of the mission, stressing that the measure is part of the city government’s effort to make Taipei a friendly city when it comes to raising children.According to Hau, the 12 family halls have become important places for parents to spend quality time with theirs kids. The interactive activities provided by these facilities help to strengthen the bond between family members. Hau added that each parent-child center boasts its own unique characteristics. For example, Shilin hall highlights traffic safety education; Zhongshan offers theater performances; Wanhua is known for its spacious outdoor area and rock climbing fun; and the newly-opened Xinyi hall teems with traits of a military dependents’ village.To make these services even more accessible, Hau announced that parents are welcome to utilize the city-developed mobile application to make reservations ahead of visits. The app will help eliminate the hassle associated with queuing up for access to the public facility.
