Blue Highway Offers Moon Festival Moonlight Cruise

To commemorate the tenth anniversary and to celebrate the upcoming Moon Festival, cruise operators of the city’s Blue Highway will offer special Moonlight Cruises from September 5 to 8.

The two-hour tour will begin with passengers boarding the vessel at Dadaocheng Wharf. The ferry will travel along the river until it reaches the Guandu Wharf and turn back. Passengers will be able to enjoy free moon cakes and pomelo onboard. There will also be a traditional pomelo-peeling contest for all participants.According to the Public Transportation Office, the goal of setting up these limited cruises is to offer both residents and visitors a unique way of celebrating Moon Festival. Instead of standard barbeque parties, participants will be able to enjoy the wonderful views of various illuminated bridges along the Tamsui River, as well as relaxing in the evening breeze as they savor the taste of delicious Moon Festival delicacies. To encourage passengers to reserve their tickets ahead of time, everyone who preorders the Moonlight Cruise ticket will receive a serving of free ice cream. The price for each ticket is NT$290.For more information on Blue Highway Cruises, please visit the Chinese website at: www.riverfun.taipei.gov.tw
