On September 28 of each year, the Taipei Confucius Temple organizes the Confucius Ceremony to commemorate the birth of China’s greatest teacher, Confucius. The “Three Consecrations Rite,” which is a national-level ritual, is a preserved tradition with the longest history today.

The entire ceremony features the solemn traditional Three Consecrations Rite, Yayue (Chinese imperial court music), Pa-Yi Dance, and Sacrificial Feast. The ritual advocates respect for teachers and doctrines, promotes studies of Confucianism and, highlights the great contribution made by Confucius to future generations. This year marks the 2,654th birthday of Confucius and Taipei Confucius Temple will stage the remarkable traditional rituals, as well as offering spectators wisdom cakes, souvenirs, arts and literary performances, and other festivities after the ceremony.

We welcome the public to join us in celebrating the birthday of Confucius with us. For more information on tickets, please contact Ms. Chen at (02)2592-3934, ext. 18.
