New Attraction in Beitou—Pineapple Pavilion

A new recreational destination is waiting for you to explore!

While many people know about the cherry-blossom tunnel on Fuxing 3rd Road in Beitou District, few seem to realize that there was once a special residential cluster in the vicinity boasting abundant supply of pineapples.According to Geotechnical Engineering Office (GEO) Director Huang Li-yuan, the “Pineapple Cluster” dates back to the Qing Dynasty. The nearby Yongchunliao River, following years of dredging and improvement effort, has been restored to its original state. Along with embankment reinforcement and stair construction, GEO also took on a landscape beautification project by building a plaza and a “pineapple-shaped pavilion.” Integrating the concepts of disaster prevention, recreation, education, and environmental protection, the renovated “Pineapple Cluster” is set to become a new attraction for residents. GEO invites the public to visit the Pineapple Pavilion in Beitou for leisure activities while taking in the panoramic view of Guandu Plain.Pineapple Pavilion
