Regenerated Fudekeng, Sanshuilu Parks Offer Cycling Fun

The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) invites the public to take advantage of the free bicycle rental service at Fudekeng Restoration Park and Shanshuilu Ecological Park. The rental stations are open daily between 8 AM and 5 PM.

According to DEP, the bicycles available at the aforementioned parks—former landfills which underwent successful restoration—are constructed from renewed parts to fulfill the city’s commitment to making the most out of reusable materials. DEP pointed out that Fudekeng Restoration Park and Shanshuilu Ecological Park boast 1.2 km and 2.7 km of cycling trails respectively. To ensure the safety of visitors, the agency will put in place public liability insurance in case of accidents which could result in injuries or property damage to cyclists. Those who wish to utilize the bike rental service are required to abide by the rules stipulated by the city government. In addition to cycling, the public are also invited to witness the “green miracles” of the parks’ rebirth through other recreational facilities in the parks, including grass skiing area, fields designed for flying remote control aircrafts, indigenous wood carving artworks, children’s playground, observatory platform, pavilion, and more.
