Guests at a quarantine hotel in Taipei have been moved to government quarantine centers or other hotels as the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) investigates a potential COVID-19 cluster.
Three current or former guests at the hotel, all Taiwan nationals, have tested positive for the disease over the past three days, though genome sequencing has not yet been completed to determine whether their infections are linked, the CECC said.
The three guests’ stay at the hotel overlapped, though their rooms were not close to each other, and they traveled to Taiwan from different countries, the CECC said.
As the three cases all tested positive during quarantine, they are likely to have little effect on the community at large, the CECC said.
