CORONAVIRUS/Taiwan to cut COVID-19 quarantine for arrivals to 3 days

Starting June 15, the mandatory quarantine for arriving passengers to Taiwan will be cut from seven to three days, Health and Welfare Minister Chen Shih-chung (???) said Saturday.

Under the new plan, arriving passengers in Taiwan will take a saliva test at the airport, and begin their three-day isolation period the following day, Chen said during the Central Epidemic Command Center’s COVID-19 press briefing.

Following the three-day quarantine, they will have to observe tight disease prevention protocols for another four days, during which people are encouraged to not go out unless necessary.

Those who want to go to work or buy food or other necessities can do so during the four-day period if they have tested negative using a rapid antigen test at home the same day or the previous day, according to Chen.
