TAITRA signs pact with U.S. state of Rhode Island (Taiwan News)

Taipei, Aug. 24 (CNA) The Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), Taiwan’s main trade promotion body, signed a pact with Rhode Island Commerce Corp. of the United States on Monday to jointly explore trade and investment opportunities. The memorandum of understanding was inked in Taipei by TAITRA Executive Vice President Walter Yeh (???) and Stefan Pryor, Rhode Island’s secretary of of commerce, who is leading a business trade mission to Taiwan from Aug. 23-26. As Rhode Island’s seventh-largest global export market and second-largest Asian export market, Taiwan’s total imports from the state were valued at US$90.8 million in 2014, putting it ahead of all European countries except Germany.
