Taipei, Budget airline Tigerair Taiwan is inviting passengers to celebrate Chinese Valentine’s Day on Aug. 25 by offering half-day trips focusing on the flight experience, as well as handing out free tickets to those couples who stay together.
Flights IT-2020 will operate on Aug. 22 and 25, allowing couples to have the sightseeing trip for nearly three hours, departing from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport and returning to the same place, the carrier said Monday.
The tickets, which were sold in pairs for NT$20,520 (US$698), feature extra lodging or dining services, as well as future air ticket offers, according to the carrier.
The couples will be entitled to free Tigerair Taiwan round-trip tickets to any of its flight destinations within a year of border restrictions being lifted — if they are still together at that time, it said.
If the couple has a child by then, the child will also be given a free ticket, it said.
The Tigerair Taiwan flights are among a series of similar tours being offered by Taiwan airlines in an effort to recover from the sharp drop in passenger volume due to border restrictions and quarantine regulations in Taiwan and many other countries around the world amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
