Taiwanese actor Chang Feng (??), a versatile performer who won prestigious Golden Bell and Golden Horse Awards, died at 98 on Feb. 6, his daughter confirmed Wednesday.

While the cause of his death was not immediately known, Chang died “peacefully in his sleep,” his daughter Chang Ching (??) said.

Chang Feng won several major awards during his career. He was twice honored as best actor at the Golden Bell Awards, Taiwan’s Emmys, once in 1984 for his role in “Two Endings” (????) and the other in 1986 for his role in “Autumn Moon and Spring Winds” (????).

He also won Golden Horse Awards, seen as the Academy Awards for Chinese-language films, for best actor in 1976 for his role in “Fragrant Flower Versus Noxious Grass” (?????) and for best supporting actor in 1984 for his role in “The Warmth of an Old House” (????).

In 2008, Chang was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Golden Horse Awards.
