1st woman urban development head chosen for Taipei mayor-elect’s cabinet

Taipei mayor-elect Chiang Wan-an (???) on Monday released a list of personnel to serve in his administration, including Wang Yu-fen (???), who will be the first woman to head the capital city’s Department of Urban Development.

Also in Chiang’s administration team are former Kaohsiung Deputy Mayor Lee Shu-chuan (???), who will serve as Chiang’s deputy, and former New Taipei director of finance Lee Tai-hsing (???), who will take the job as secretary-general.

Chiang’s cabinet will also have Chang Wen-te (???) to serve as deputy secretary-general, Hsieh Min-hung (???) as commissioner of transportation, Wu Sheng-chung (???) as commissioner of environmental protection, Chen Yung-te (???) as commissioner of civil affairs, and Cheng Te-fa (???) as commissioner of rapid transit systems.

Huang I-ping (???), the incumbent head of the Department of Urban Development, will be transferred to head the Public Works Department, while incumbent Deputy Secretary General Chen Hsin-liang (???) will be transferred to lead the Department of Land Administration, according to Chiang’s office.

It said in a statement that these team members include talents from Taipei and New Taipei, who are experienced in handling public service affairs, and are able to fulfill their duties to build a “services-oriented government” that is clean and efficient.

Chiang and his team will officially assume office on Dec. 25.
