Notice of Changes to YouBike Rules

To ensure the rights of YouBike users, the operator of the public bike hire scheme has modified its terms of use. The public are advised to pay heed to the changes of rules which will take effect on June 18.
  
Major changes of the terms of service are as follows:

1. In compliance with Personal Information Protection Act, the personal information of YouBike users will only be used within the scope of the purpose clearly set forth in the terms of service to ensure the privacy of YouBike users.
2. Should users arrive to return a bike at a docking station fully occupied, they can select the “Station Full” button on the kiosk touchscreen to request an additional 30 minutes of free time be added to their trip or drop the bike back to a nearby station.
3. A quick check of the bike is necessary before use. If there is a glitch, return it within 5 minutes to the original station or seek the help of the YouBike customer service center. No fees will be charged.
4. If users find their bikes missing, they should report it to the police straight away and obtain a proof document for reporting loss of a bike to the YouBike service center. Users will be liable for fees incurred between the renting time and the time of the loss report. If the lost bike cannot be recovered in three months, the user will be liable for a damage charge of NT$9,000.
