Police from Wiang Kaen Police Station, Chiang Rai Province, along with local residents, attempted to arrest Mr. Lee, 40 years old, who had fled into his home after allegedly slamming a two-month-old girl against the floor of the house until she died. The incident occurred when Mr. Lee attempted to rape Ms. Chanikan, the child's mother, who was a neighbor living across the street. However, the child's mother refused and ran away. The perpetrator claimed that he had a crush on the child's mother for a long time. He took the opportunity when the child's father went out to work and broke into the house, hoping to intimidate him into having sex with him. However, the young mother refused and ran away.
