Taipei: Taiwan’s Central Weather Administration (CWA) warned people across Taiwan to expect brief, localized thundershowers Monday afternoon as moisture levels rise. In its daily forecast, the CWA said afternoon thundershowers could form in the western half of Taiwan, with the heaviest rain likely in the south and mountainous areas in the center. Isolated showers could persist across western Taiwan into the evening hours, the agency said.
According to Focus Taiwan, the CWA said highs on Monday are expected to range between 32 and 34 degrees Celsius, with high UV index readings likely around noontime. Meanwhile, independent meteorologist Wu Der-rong mentioned that Taiwan is expected to experience cloudier and slightly cooler weather, with a chance of afternoon thundershowers, through Wednesday. From Thursday through Saturday, the weather will again turn sunny and hot, with temperatures in the north rising up to 38 degrees, Wu said, citing the latest European forecasting models.
