Taipei: The Taipei Computer Association (TCA) hosted an AI forum on Tuesday as a precursor to Computex Taipei 2025, an eminent international exhibition centered on AIoT and startups set to commence later this month. The AI Next Forum was designed to encourage industry dialogue and highlight cutting-edge AI applications, ranging from cloud to edge computing, aimed at propelling digital transformation and fostering new business opportunities globally, stated TCA Chairman Paul Peng at the forum’s inauguration.
According to Focus Taiwan, the forum is concentrated on technological strategies for the AI 2.0 era, discussing generative AI, enterprise data centers, cloud infrastructure (both public and private), and the integration of AI servers and large language models. Industry giants like Intel, Amazon Web Services (AWS), McKinsey, Wiwynn, Advantech, Asus, and Delta shared real-world experiences and explored avenues for further collaboration.
Peng emphasized Taiwan’s efforts in strengthening its AI supply chain by linking software and hardware manufacturers, expanding internationally, and connecting data centers, enterprise AI, and edge computing to provide comprehensive solutions. Computex, founded in 1981, is one of the world’s leading technology and startup trade shows, chronicling Taiwan’s ICT and semiconductor industry growth.
The upcoming Computex event, scheduled from May 20-23 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, will embrace the theme “AI Next” and will focus on AI computing, future mobility, advanced communications, and green energy. Over 60 percent of the exhibition booths will feature AI technologies, spanning core hardware to cross-industry solutions, Peng noted.
Peng also highlighted Taiwan’s pivotal role in the global AI hardware ecosystem, leveraging its strong supply chain and manufacturing capabilities to drive AI-powered business transformation across sectors such as manufacturing, healthcare, finance, and smart mobility.
This year’s Computex will showcase significant AI advancements from top semiconductor and IC design manufacturers, including Nvidia, Qualcomm, MediaTek, NXP, SK Hynix, Kioxia, Powerchip, and Kneron, through forums and exhibits. Additionally, the InnoVEX startup zone will present a variety of AI innovations, featuring the Edge AI Foundation theme pavilion and the IC Taiwan Grand Challenge (ICTGC) pavilion, organized by the National Science and Technology Council.
Furthermore, the exhibition will expand its showcase of AI applications with new zones like the AI service technology zone and the robot and drone zone. These areas will display generative AI, agent-based AI, and intelligent robot technologies, as noted by the TCA.
