“Angkana” reveals there is a lobby to withdraw from the race for the chairman of the Political Development Committee.

‘Angkana’ reveals that there is a lobby pressuring her to withdraw from the race for the position of Chairman of the Political Development Committee, slamming it as a shameful act, but she does not live or die because of what she gets or does not get, so she is working.

Senator Angkana Neelapaijit said about her application to be the chairwoman of the Senate Committee on Political Development, Public Participation, Human Rights, Rights, Liberties, and Consumer Protection that the committee is a merger of two committees. She personally proposed that she has the ability to work here and expressed her intention to work as the chairwoman. However, if we consider the knowledge, ability, and experience, the selection of the chairwoman is not a competition but a consideration to select suitable people to work for the benefit of the people. However, if other methods are used, she is worried.

‘A committee member called to tell me to withdraw. Some friends were also forced to choose someone else, which is a shameful
act for the Senate. All senators should not do this. Personally, I want to see a thorough, fair, transparent consideration without any other methods that are shameful acts of pressuring someone to give in and withdraw. This is something I am concerned about,’ said Ms. Angkana.

Ms. Angkana also said that whether she gets it or not, it doesn’t matter. No matter what, she is working anyway. So if she gets it, she will work. If she doesn’t, she will work. However, to get it, she reiterated that it should be considered based on qualifications, suitability, and ability.

Regarding the negative image that may be seen as a competition for the position of the committee chairman, Ms. Angkana said that some senators said that there is no faction, no group, no majority or minority. But in practice, the reality is undeniable. Personally, I am a minority. If it is not them, then it is someone else. We have been viewed this way all along. I would like to talk to each other directly.

As for the blocking of votes at the com
mittee level, will it lead to blocking of votes many times in the future? Ms. Angkana said that if we are going to use a moral system to consider work, transparency must be verifiable, straightforward, honest and sincere. Very important, one of the codes of ethics for independent organizations and politicians is written as follows: “People who will perform duties in independent organizations or politicians must work with courage and not be afraid of any influence.” Personally, I work straightforwardly and am very uncomfortable with any methods that try to pressure me, whether it is me who is being pressured or others who are being treated like this. Even if I become the president, it is not elegant.
