Arrested: A lone thief broke into a famous shopping mall in Chanthaburi and stole a gold ring worth 40,000 baht. He claimed that he was unemployed and needed money to raise his child. Police tracked down and arrested Mr. Akkharachai, 30 years old, from Khlung District, Chanthaburi Province, a suspect who robbed a gold ring worth 40,000 baht from a gold shop in a shopping mall in the center of Chanthaburi. He was arrested at a hut in the middle of a fruit orchard in Khao Khoi Waen Subdistrict, Tha Mai District, Chanthaburi Province. He was later taken for questioning at the Chanthaburi Provincial Police Headquarters. The suspect claimed that he was unemployed and had no money to support his child, and that he had argued with his girlfriend, which led to his crime. After that, he was taken to reenact the crime to support his confession, which was observed by many interested members of the public who came to shop.
