Chiang Mai, A man has been arrested for robbing nearly 100 baht worth of gold alone in a gold shop in a famous shopping mall in Chiang Mai. He planned to trick the owner of the car and kill him in order to steal the car and rob the gold before staging the scene and dumping the car and body on Doi Suthep. At approximately 8:00 p.m., Pol. Lt. Gen. Kritthapol Yisakorn, Commander of Provincial Police Region 5, traveled to Phu Ping Kracha Niwet Police Station in Chiang Mai Province after reports that the investigation team had arrested Mr. Nipitphon, 26, the lone robber who robbed gold in a famous shopping mall in Chiang Mai, at his residence in Chiang Mai Province. The investigation found that this young man tricked the owner of a white Toyota sedan, who was a rider, into killing him to steal the car to commit a gold robbery. Then he took the body and dumped it at a viewpoint on Doi Suthep before dumping the car and setting up a scene like the deceased robbed the gold. The police are currently searching for th e spot where the culprit dumped the body of the car owner and are bringing the culprit in for questioning. Source: Thai News Agency
