CORONAVIRUS/Taiwan reports eight new COVID-19 cases, zero deaths

CNA) Taiwan on Monday recorded eight new cases of COVID-19 — three transmitted domestically and five contracted overseas — and zero deaths from the disease, according to the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC).

All three domestic cases were reported in New Taipei.

The new cases bring the total in Taiwan to 15,991, of which 14,361 are domestic infections reported since May 15, when the country first recorded more than 100 COVID-19 cases in a single day.

To date, 834 people have died of COVID-19 in Taiwan, including 822 since May 15.
