CORONAVIRUS/Taiwan reports four new COVID-19 cases, zero deaths

Taiwan on Tuesday reported four new COVID-19 cases, all contracted overseas, as well as zero deaths from the disease, according to the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC).

The four imported cases are citizens of the United States, the Philippines, the United Kingdom, and Indonesia, who traveled to Taiwan from their home countries, the CECC said.

To date, Taiwan has confirmed a total of 16,380 COVID-19 cases, of which 14,425 are domestic infections reported since May 15, when the country first recorded more than 100 cases in a single day.

Since Aug. 15, the daily number of domestic cases has fallen to mostly single digits, and the total number of domestic cases since Aug. 15 totals 122, according to CECC data.

With no new deaths reported Tuesday, the number of confirmed COVID-19 fatalities in the country remains at 847, with all but 12 recorded since May 15, CECC data showed.
