Taiwan reported on Tuesday seven new imported cases of COVID-19 and no new deaths from the disease, according to the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC).

The new cases were three Taiwanese and four foreign nationals who arrived in Taiwan from Indonesia, Cambodia, Germany, the United States, Vietnam, and China between Nov. 8 and 21, the CECC said.

Six of the new cases have been classified as breakthrough infections because they tested positive for COVID-19 more than 14 days after being fully vaccinated against the disease, according to the CECC.

Whether the seventh case can be determined as a breakthrough infection is still being investigated, the CECC added.

To date, Taiwan has confirmed a total of 16,539 COVID-19 cases, of which 14,426 were domestic infections reported since May 15, when the country first recorded more than 100 cases in a single day.

There have only been 123 domestic cases since Aug. 15, as daily domestic case numbers have fallen to mostly single digits or zero since then, according to CECC data.

With no new deaths reported Monday, the number of confirmed COVID-19 fatalities in the country remains at 848, with all but 12 recorded since May 15.
