Deputy Tourism Chief Appointed as Taiwan’s Deputy Envoy to Indonesia

Taipei: President Lai Ching-te has appointed Lin Hsin-jen, currently serving as the deputy head of the Tourism Administration, as Taiwan's new deputy representative to Indonesia. The announcement was made through a Presidential Order issued by the Presidential Office on Saturday, though the specific date for Lin to assume his new role in Jakarta was not disclosed.

According to Focus Taiwan, a diplomatic source revealed on Sunday that Lin's appointment is strategically aimed at leveraging his extensive experience in multi-domain integration. With over ten years in tourism promotion and marketing, Lin is expected to play a crucial role in helping Taiwan tap into Indonesia's emerging Muslim market. Lin has been serving as the deputy chief of the then-Tourism Bureau since 2020, and his public sector career began in 1990 as a specialist in the Ministry of Economic Affairs' Statistics Division.

In 2005, Lin transitioned to the role of section head in the International Affairs Division of the Tourism Bureau, part of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications. His career has also included overseas assignments at the Tourism Bureau's offices in Los Angeles and Singapore.
