DSI, DSI sends additional legal documents against Kanta Thai Frozen Fish Co., Ltd. in the illegal pork case to the NACC after previously sending documents for 7 cases. Pol. Lt. Col. Yuthana Phraedam, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Special Investigation, Acting Director-General of the Department of Special Investigation, considered and gave his opinion to forward the case file No. 102/2566, the case of the illegal import of animal carcasses (pigs) into the Kingdom to the NACC Office, in accordance with the resolution of the meeting of the Special Case Investigation Team, led by Pol. Lt. Col. Nattapol Disayatham, an expert in consumer and environmental protection cases, investigating and collecting evidence convincing that government officials were involved in the inspection and release of containers that had already been released, which may be considered an offense of being an official who acted or neglected to act in an improper manner to cause damage to a person or acted or neglected to act i n an act corruptly according to the Criminal Code, which is a criminal offense under the jurisdiction of the National Anti-Corruption Commission under the Organic Act on the Prevention and Suppression of Corruption B.E. 2561. Previously, the Department of Special Investigation had forwarded the case file of special cases regarding the illegal import of animal carcasses (pigs) into the Kingdom to the NACC Office, totaling 7 cases. In Special Case No. 102/2566, the Special Case Investigation Team has prosecuted Kanta Thai Frozen Fish Co., Ltd. and 5 others for attempting to bring goods that had passed or were in the process of passing through customs into the Kingdom by avoiding the restrictions on such goods under the Customs Act B.E. 2561 of the Criminal Code, and the offense of importing, exporting or transiting animals or animal carcasses into the Kingdom without a license from the Director-General or a person assigned by the Director-General under the Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 of the Criminal Code. T he incident occurred at Laem Chabang Port, Thung Sukhla Subdistrict, Si Racha District, Chonburi Province between 25 August 2565 and 30 November 2565, consecutively. For Special Case No. 126/2023, regarding the illegal import of animal carcasses (pigs) and their removal from the port for sale to consumers, totaling 2,388 containers, the Special Case Investigation Team has requested information from foreign countries through the International Criminal Procedures (MLAT) process from 30 countries of origin.
