EVA Air Achieves Record-Breaking Q1 Net Profits and EPS

Taipei: EVA Airways (EVA Air) announced a significant milestone on Tuesday, reporting its highest-ever first-quarter net profits of NT$5.93 billion and an unprecedented earnings per share (EPS) of NT$1.10.

According to Focus Taiwan, the airline’s consolidated sales for the first quarter reached NT$54.94 billion (US$194.65 million), marking a 5.8 percent increase compared to the same period last year. The company attributed this financial success to a substantial 25.9 percent year-on-year rise in cargo revenue, totaling NT$12.728 billion. This surge was primarily fueled by the company’s cargo flight services, which benefited from increased air cargo volumes and prices driven by strong demand for products from Chinese e-commerce platforms, AI servers, and semiconductors.

Despite the thriving cargo operations, EVA Air reported a slight decrease of 0.3 percent in revenue from its passenger flight operations, amounting to NT$36.412 billion in the first quarter. The airline operates a fleet of 87 aircraft, consisting of 78 passenger jets and nine freighters, with plans to expand its fleet with 53 additional aircraft by 2033.
