EVA Air Marathon Sees Victories for Kenya’s Ngare and Australia’s Clark

Taipei: Kenya’s Joseph Mwangi Ngare emerged victorious in the men’s category of the EVA Air Marathon in Taipei, while Australia’s Amelia Clark claimed the top spot in the women’s division.

According to Focus Taiwan, Ngare completed the marathon with a time of 2 hours, 18 minutes, and 12 seconds. In the women’s marathon, Clark finished with a time of 2:47:25, securing her victory.

In the men’s half marathon, Ngare’s fellow countryman, Paul Ndungu Muchai, took first place, finishing in 1:07:11. Taiwan’s Chen Mei-tung achieved a personal best of 1:22:00 to win the women’s half marathon title.

The event also featured a 10-kilometer race. Huang Wei-sheng led the men’s category with a time of 36 minutes and 44 seconds, while Lin Chien-i was the fastest among the women, completing the race in 45 minutes and 13 seconds.

Registration for the marathon, certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), opened in May. It reached its capacity in under 24 hours, with 24,000 participants from around the globe signing up.
