Four NT$10 Million-Winning March-April Receipts Remain Unclaimed: MOF

Taipei: The Ministry of Finance (MOF) on Thursday urged the holders of four invoice receipts, which secured the NT$10 million (US$304,000) special prize in Taiwan's March-April uniform invoice lottery, to come forward and collect their prizes.

According to Focus Taiwan, the unclaimed receipts include a NT$260 digital purchase from the Apple App Store, a NT$300 cigarette purchase at an Ok Mart on Sanmin Street in New Taipei's Sanzhi District, a NT$270 expense at a MOS Burger on Sanmin West Road in Taichung's South District, and a NT$39 beverage buy from a Hi-Life on Jinlong Road in Kaohsiung's Dashe District.

In addition to these four receipts, the MOF disclosed that two grand prize-winning receipts, each valued at NT$2 million, remain uncollected. These include a NT$45 beverage purchase at a Hi-Life on Daguan Road in Taoyuan's Dayuan District and another beverage purchase costing NT$75 at a 7-Eleven on Zhongzheng Road in Zhongli District.

The MOF reminded the public that all six receipts are eligible for claiming until September 5. They also announced that the winning numbers for the May-June receipts will be revealed on Friday.

To claim a prize, Taiwanese citizens must present their National Identification Card along with the winning receipt. Non-citizens can also claim the cash prizes by providing their passport, Alien Resident Certificate, or Entry and Exit Permit issued by the National Immigration Agency, as stated by the ministry.

The uniform invoice lottery, drawn bi-monthly, was introduced in the early 1950s to incentivize consumers to request receipts for purchases, thereby boosting tax revenue.
