Gudeng Precision Launches Operations at New Arizona Plant

Taipei:Taiwan-based Gudeng Precision Industrial Co. has commenced operations at its new plant in Arizona. This development follows the establishment of a production base in the U.S. state by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC).

According to Focus Taiwan, Gudeng Chairman Chiu Ming-chien presided over the ceremony marking the official completion of the Arizona plant, highlighting it as a significant step in the company's global expansion amid the restructuring of global supply chains.

Gudeng, which currently operates production bases in Taiwan, China, and South Korea, also began construction on a plant in Japan's Kurume-Hirokawa New Industrial Park in Fukuoka Prefecture on April 15, 2025.

Chiu stated that Arizona was chosen for Gudeng's overseas production base due to the state's established semiconductor and aerospace industries, supported by TSMC's existing and planned facilities, including advanced chip packaging plants. He also acknowledged Arizona's large talent pool and the state government's support for advanced manufacturing and technological innovation.

Gudeng plans to use its Arizona site to enhance services for its U.S. customers and grow alongside them. The company will initially focus on establishing a parts-processing production line at the new location.

Other Taiwanese companies investing in Arizona include United Integrated Services Co., which offers semiconductor facility engineering services, and electronics component maker Foxlink International Inc.
