Taipei: The Central Weather Administration (CWA) has issued a heat alert for Friday, warning that temperatures could reach 36 degrees Celsius or higher in parts of seven cities and counties across Taiwan.
According to Focus Taiwan, the alert issued at 7:25 a.m. indicates that parts of Taipei, New Taipei, Tainan, and Pingtung County are expected to experience highs of 36 degrees for three consecutive days. Additionally, temperatures in parts of Kaohsiung and Yunlin County could also reach 36 degrees, as per the CWA's predictions.
CWA's website suggests that the mercury is likely to dip to between 25 and 27 degrees Celsius after sunset. Despite low atmospheric moisture leading to partly sunny skies across the island, afternoon showers remain a possibility in mountainous areas, as well as in Kaohsiung and Pingtung County in southern Taiwan. Furthermore, intermittent rain may occur in Taitung County and the Hengchun Peninsula in Pingtung County, according to the CWA.
