On July 3, relatives cremated Mrs. Chuen, aged 78, after she ate poisonous mushrooms that her son had collected from the area of ??Wat Pa Ban Nam Kham Noi, Yasothon Province, and died on July 1. Most recently, relatives brought the body of Mr. Phonchai, aged 46, her son, to be chanted at the Sala of Wat Nam Kham Noi, Nam Kham Yai Subdistrict, Mueang Yasothon District, Yasothon Province, after he collected poisonous mushrooms to cook and eat with his mother and died at Yasothon Hospital at 1:35 a.m. on July 8. Before she died, Mrs. Chuen had blurred vision, while her son, Mr. Phonchai, steamed various mushrooms, including red blood charcoal mushrooms, termite mushrooms, and kai mushrooms, which were suspected to be poisonous and looked like charcoal mushrooms. Mrs. Chu en told her neighbors that Mr. Phonchai steamed the mushrooms for her to eat, but she did not know if the mushrooms were cooked. She felt that the mushrooms were crispy, not soft like cooked mushrooms. At around 8:00 p.m., Mrs. Chuen started to feel sick, had nausea, vomiting, and chest tightness, but refused to go to the hospital. Later, at noon on June 30, Mr. Phonchai started to feel nauseous, vomit, had stomach cramps, and had diarrhea. Relatives called an ambulance to pick up Mrs. Chuen and Mr. Phonchai to take them to Yasothon Hospital. Mr. Phonchai was in serious condition and had to be intubated and was treated in the ICU until both the mother and son died. The doctor diagnosed that it was caused by food poisoning from poisonous mushrooms, and it was an outbreak of a common source of disease from eating the same pot of mixed mushrooms. Mr. Kanya, 30 years old, the deceased's granddaughter, said that Mr. Phonchai was an expert in picking wild mushrooms. He often picked mushrooms to sell and cooked the m for his mother to eat. However, this time he did not know what poisonous mushrooms he picked, which caused the loss. Therefore, he wanted to warn others that if you are not an expert in mushrooms or if you suspect that a mushroom is poisonous, you should not pick it to eat or sell because it is dangerous. In Yasothon Province, there was a death from eating poisonous mushrooms. This is the 4th case in the past month. There are also more than 82 patients who have been sick from poisonous mushrooms.
