KG Mobility Corp., a South Korean carmaker, on Tuesday launched a redesigned Actyon sport utility vehicle in the domestic market to boost sales. The Actyon SUV comes with a 1.5-liter gasoline turbocharged engine, a six-speed automatic transmission, and eight airbags, the company said in a statement. The revamped model sells at 34 million won (US$25,000) to 37 million won depending on options, it said. KG Mobility's lineup consists of the Tivoli, Korando, Rexton, Rexton Sports, Torres, and Torres EVX SUVs. The Torres EVX is KG Mobility's second battery-powered model after the Korando Emotion launched in the domestic market in February 2022. The Torres EVX is equipped with a lithium iron phosphate battery system and can travel more than 420 kilometers on a single charge. KG Mobility, formerly SsangYong Motor Co., sold a total of 64,878 vehicles in the January-July period, down 14 percent from 75,813 units a year earlier. Domestic sales plunged 34 percent to 28,215 units in the first seven months from 43, 012 a year ago, while exports rose 11 percent to 36,663 autos from 32,981 during the same period. Half of its export volumes go to Europe, with the remainder shipped to Latin America, Middle East and Asian markets. Source: Yonhap News Agency
