The Korean National Police Agency (KNPA) and Interpol's secretariat jointly kicked off a three-day international conference in Incheon, west of Seoul, on Wednesday to discuss ways to predict the constantly changing global security environment and prepare for new threats, the agency said. The 1st Interpol Future of Policing Congress kicked off at the Songdo Conventia in Incheon, some 30 kilometers west of Seoul, bringing together about 90 representatives of law enforcement agencies and security experts from Interpol and 37 countries worldwide, including Canada, Japan, Germany and the United Arab Emirates. The first-of-its-kind conference, whose main theme is change in the future security environment and law enforcement agencies' response, will continue through Friday in conjunction with the Korea Police World Expo 2024 set for Wednesday to Saturday at the same convention center, the KNPA said. The conference will be divided into three sub-themes -- predicting the future of law enforcement through global meg atrends, the impact of future changes on law enforcement agencies, and coordination and preparation of law enforcement for the future, it noted.
