Kumho Petro Chemical Co. on Friday reported its second-quarter net profit of 131.6 billion won (US$96 million), up 15.9 percent from a year earlier. Operating income for the April-June period was 119.1 billion won, up 10.7 percent from a year ago, the company said in a regulatory filing. Revenue rose 17.4 percent to 1.85 trillion won. The earnings beat market expectations.
