Latin American Allies Showcase Specialty Foods at Taipei Mega Show

Taipei: The ambassadors from Taiwan's three allies in Central and South America jointly promoted their countries' agricultural products and specialty foods at a pavilion opened at the annual Food Taipei Mega Shows 2026 on Wednesday.

According to Focus Taiwan, the "Latin America Pavilion" was jointly unveiled by Guatemalan Ambassador Luis Raºl Est©vez L³pez, Belizean Ambassador Katherine Vanessa Meighan, and Paraguayan Ambassador Daro Fil¡rtiga Ruiz Daz, accompanied by Vice Foreign Minister Ger Baushuan. The pavilion features 26 companies from the three countries, as stated by the Central America Trade Office (CATO), which helped organize the allies' participation in the annual fair.

Guatemala is showcasing specialty coffee, white shrimp, macadamia nuts, and tropical sauces, while Belize is featuring its world-renowned hot sauces, cocoa products, and seafood. Paraguay is highlighting its premium beef, rum, chocolate, and grains, according to CATO. Founded in 1997 by Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, CATO regularly organizes national and international trade shows, as well as trade, investment, tourism, and cultural promotion events, to support Taiwan's allies in Central America.

The Food Taipei Mega Shows bring together five major food-related exhibitions, including Food Taipei, Foodtech Taipei, Bio/Pharmatech Taiwan, Taipei Pack, and Taiwan HoReCa. All five shows are being held concurrently across three venues -- TWTC Hall 1 and Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Halls 1 and 2 from Wednesday through Saturday.
