Taipei: Garbage and recycling schedules will vary over the Feb. 14-22 Lunar New Year holiday.

According to Focus Taiwan, the collection information has been compiled from the governments of Taiwan's six special municipalities to help residents manage their waste disposal during the festive period.

In Taipei, regular garbage collection services will be available on February 15-16, with no services from February 17-19. An extra service is scheduled for February 20, before regular service resumes on February 21.

New Taipei will offer an extra service on February 15, and collection times will be adjusted on February 16, with services running from the morning until 6 p.m. No services will be provided from February 17-19, but garbage can be dropped off at 70 designated locations during this time. Regular service resumes on February 20.

In Taoyuan, an extra service is scheduled for February 15, and collection will begin at 9 a.m. on February 16, with no evening collection. There will be no service from February 17-19 and on February 22. An extra service will occur on February 20, starting at 9 a.m., with regular service resuming on February 21. Fuxing Township will follow a different schedule.

Taichung will have extra services on February 15 and 16, with only roadside collection on the former and daytime collection on the latter. February 18 will see no services, while collection will be at designated locations on February 17 and 19. Regular services will resume on February 20.

In Tainan, extra services will be available on February 15-16, with no services from February 17-19. Another extra service is planned for February 20, and regular service will resume on February 21.

Kaohsiung will follow a similar schedule to Tainan, with extra services on February 15-16, no services from February 17-19, an extra service on February 20, and a return to regular services on February 21.
