Taipei: Fast food giant McDonald's has announced a price increase for select menu items at its outlets across Taiwan, effective from May 27. The company stated that prices will rise by up to NT$5 on certain products, marking a notable adjustment in the fast food market.
According to Focus Taiwan, the price hike will affect various popular offerings at McDonald's. Extra value meals and sharing boxes will see an increase of NT$5, while breakfast combos and creamy corn soup are set to rise by NT$3. However, the company assured customers that the main items in these meals, when purchased individually, will maintain their current pricing.
In addition to meal changes, beverage prices are also affected. The price of a medium-sized lemon iced tea and a hot cappuccino will each increase by NT$3. Moreover, the cost of additional dipping sauces for chicken nuggets will rise by NT$2, and there will be a NT$1 increase for extra plastic bags.
This price adjustment reflects McDonald's response to varying market conditions and operational costs, aiming to balance affordability with quality service to its customers across Taiwan.
