“Nattawut” asks the parliament to approve the opposition’s law against beating children.

‘Nattawut’ asks the parliament to approve the opposition’s law against beating children, fearing that the progressive liquor bill will be postponed for a vote because it took several weeks to debate the draft of the Ethnicity Act, and raises questions for the government on the issue of natural disasters and wages, thanking the cabinet for promising to answer questions.

Mr. Nattawut Buaprathum, MP for the Prachachon Party, said about the agenda of the House of Representatives meeting on Wednesday, September 25 and Thursday, September 26 that on Wednesday, there will be consideration of several important draft laws, such as the draft bill to amend the Civil and Commercial Code (No. ..) B.E. … or the law against hitting children. This is considered after the committee has considered it. In the acceptance of the principle stage, 401 members voted in favor, which is considered a unanimous resolution. The committee made only minor amendments, such as changing from punishment to behavioral improvement, regarding
the use of violence, devaluation and degradation of human dignity. In this matter, there are qualified committee members sitting in the consideration, such as Assoc. Prof. Apinya Vejjayachai, the wife of the Deputy Prime Minister. Therefore, it is expected that the House will vote to approve the draft law and forward it to the Senate for consideration.

Mr. Nattawut added that another important draft law is the Ethnic Group Promotion and Protection Act B.E. … In this regard, there are quite a few amendments, especially the addition of the term indigenous tribes to the draft law, the administration of special areas, and the committees and various structures, which are matters that require considerable detail and careful consideration. Therefore, it is expected that it will not be completed this week. It will have to be considered continuously in the following weeks, which may affect the consideration of the Excise Tax Act or the Progressive Liquor Act, which has been pending since last week. In this regard,
we will have to discuss how to proceed in order to vote faster.

As for the House of Representatives meeting on Thursday, September 26, Mr. Nattawut said that both live questions and general questions will be considered. At present, the structure of the opposition whip has not been finalized because there will be no opposition leader. Therefore, the quota for live questions will mainly be with the Prachachon Party. The Prachachon Party will ask questions about natural disasters, wages, or political developments. The government whip has coordinated that the cabinet will try to come and answer all questions for the general questions. This is a good sign.
