There is a tendency to overflow the banks in Tambon Chang Klan, Pa Daet, Hai Ya, Chang Moi, Wat Ket, Chang Phueak, Nong Hoi, Tha Sala, Fa Ham, Pa Tan, San Phisuea, and Nong Pa Krang, Mueang Chiang Mai District, and Tambon Nong Phueng and Tha Wang Tan, Saraphi District. For the Nawarat Bridge area, Mueang Chiang Mai District, the water overflowing the banks will reach its highest level on October 4, 2024, approximately 75 centimeters to 1 meter. ONWR therefore asks that the water level be monitored and prepared for the situation of overflowing and flooding along the Ping River and its tributaries. The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) recently sent a short message (SMS) to warn people in areas at risk of the Ping River overflowing in 12 sub-districts of Mueang Chiang Mai District and 2 sub-districts of Saraphi District, according to the ONWR's forecast. It is a level 3 warning (yellow), meaning to prepare for the situation and follow the advice of relevant government agencies, including preparing to evacuate vulnerable groups.
