The main opposition Democratic Party (DP) accused President Yoon Suk Yeol on Tuesday of inciting division with his references to "anti-state forces" and other perceived threats to the nation. Rep. Park Chan-dae, the DP floor leader, said Yoon has repeatedly made references to "communist totalitarian forces" or "anti-state forces" whenever he felt he was in a tight spot. Yoon again referred to anti-state forces during a Cabinet meeting Monday, saying, "Anti-state forces that threaten the free democracy are operating covertly in various places." "Why does a president representing all of the Republic of Korea habitually make remarks inciting public division?" Park said during a party meeting at the National Assembly, suggesting Yoon was falling back on ideological lines to bury recent criticism of his allegedly pro-Japan views. Park implied the "true anti-state forces" are in the Yoon administration, saying there are those that try to fight the people oblivious of the fact that sovereignty lies with the peo ple, and others that deny constitutional principles by ignoring the National Assembly's legislative powers. "I think the entire world except President Yoon knows," Park said. "It is irresponsible instigation for a president who needs to unite the people to constantly blame others and divide the people."
