Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, and her entourage arrived at Mae Fah Luang International Airport, Chiang Rai Province at 10.30 a.m. to monitor the flood situation in Mae Sai and Mueang Districts. They were welcomed by Mr. Suttipong Juljarern, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Mr. Putthipong Sirimat, Governor of Chiang Rai Province, and Mr. Keerati Kitmanawawat, Director-General of Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT). Immediately upon arrival, a local private individual came to talk to her, saying that the private sector had come to help by donating 500,000 baht to Chiang Rai Municipality, as well as providing relief bags to people in distress. Ms. Paethongtarn replied that she had been receiving reports all along that the private sector had come to help, including volunteers and many other parties, which was very good. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai, added that he may have to rely on the private sector. Once everything is done, there will be restoration and construction materials.
