A man in his 20s extradited from Cambodia last week over the murder of a Korean tourist in Thailand's resort town of Pattaya was referred to the prosecution for potential indictment, officials said Friday. The 27-year-old allegedly fled to Cambodia on May 9, six days after killing a Korean traveler in his 30s and abandoning the body in Pattaya with two other Korean suspects. He was arrested in Phnom Penh on May 14 with cooperation from a South Korean police attache in Cambodia and the local police. According to prosecutors, the three suspects took the victim, who was under the influence of drugs and alcohol at the time, out of a club before strangling and beating him to death inside a car. They then allegedly used the victim's phone to withdraw millions of won from his bank account and went back to their accommodation, where they put the body in a drum and abandoned it at a nearby reservoir. Another accomplice in the case is under trial after being arrested in the southwestern city of Jeongeup on May 12 . The whereabouts of the remaining suspect are unclear. Source: Yonhap News Agency
