Oct 15 - The Royal Thai Police warn that they will not accept any complaints or refund registrations via social media. The only website for accepting complaints online is www.thaipoliceonline.go.th. Today (October 15), Pol. Lt. Gen. Sirawat Deepo, deputy spokesman of the Royal Thai Police, said that Pol. Gen. Kittirat Panphet, the national police chief, is concerned about the public who may be damaged by all forms of crime. Currently, there are groups of scammers who use Facebook or other social media to advertise, claiming to be the Royal Thai Police or other government agencies, with messages such as 'Report online here,' 'Register to receive a refund from scammers,' or similar messages. The fake social media accounts created by these scammers often use images of commanders and heads of government agencies, and most recently, an image of Pol. Gen. Kittirat was used to deceive. The Royal Thai Police would like to inform everyone to be careful when using social media. Do not trust any fraudulent groups clai ming to be the Royal Thai Police to accept complaints or register for refunds from fraudsters. The Royal Thai Police would like to confirm that the Royal Thai Police has only one online channel for complaints, which is www.thaipoliceonline.go.th. We will not accept complaints via Facebook chat or other social media. If you see any social media accounts advertising that you can file a complaint online on the said social media accounts, you can report it to the Royal Thai Police hotline 1599 so that officers can investigate the information.
