Taipei: Cool and wet weather is expected to persist across northern Taiwan from Sunday through Wednesday, the Central Weather Administration (CWA) said Saturday.
According to Focus Taiwan, strengthening seasonal northeasterly winds starting Sunday are expected to keep temperatures in northern Taiwan between 21 and 25 degrees Celsius through the period. The winds are also likely to bring rain to Keelung, Yilan County, and mountainous areas of greater Taipei on Sunday, with other northern and eastern regions also experiencing occasional showers, CWA said.
On Monday, temporary showers are forecast across eastern Taiwan and areas north of Taoyuan, with sporadic afternoon thundershowers in the mountains, while other areas will see partly cloudy skies, said CWA. The administration predicted that temporary showers will continue on Tuesday and Wednesday in Keelung City, eastern Taiwan, the Hengchun Peninsula, and Greater Taipei’s mountains, as other areas turn partly cloudy to clear.
Starting Thursday, northeasterly winds will weaken, bringing partly cloudy to sunny skies across Taiwan, with daytime highs rising to 26 to 27 degrees in the north and 29 to 31 degrees in other regions, according to CWA.
