Renault Korea Motors Co., the South Korean unit of Renault S.A., said Thursday its sales climbed 12.7 percent last month from a year earlier thanks to increased overseas demand. Renault Korea sold 5,447 vehicles in July, up from 4,835 units a year earlier, the company said in a statement. Exports jumped 27.1 percent to 3,978 units from 3,130 units a year earlier. Domestic sales, however, fell 13.8 percent to 1,469 units. Renault Korea said it exported 3,763 Arkana models and 215 QM6 models overseas last month. The company is preparing to launch soon the Grand Koleos, Renault Korea's ambitious new hybrid SUV, the company's first new model in four years, as it aims to overcome its prolonged sales slump in South Korea.
